FAT KID RULES THE WORLD is a coming-of-age story about two dysfunctional teenagers searching for something more out of their completely hopeless existence. It is based on the bestselling novel by K.L. Going, and is the directorial debut of Matthew Lillard. Troy Billings (Jacob Wysocki) is fat. His life sucks. He is about to end it all by jumping in front of a bus, when Marcus Macrae (Matt O’Leary), a charismatic punk rock superstar, tackles him to the ground and changes his life forever.

Matt plays Marcus, a dirty punk singer loosely based on such artists as Curt Cobain. From reading the book and seeing onset photos, Matt is perfect for the role. He will undoubtedly give another outstanding performance in this phenomenal story.
FAT KID RULES THE WORLD completed filming in August 2011 and is currently in the editing process. It has been submitted to Sundance and will hopefully be picked up. On October 18, 2011, Going got to see the first cut of the film, “The movie is awesome! I smiled so much my face hurt afterward. The acting is wonderful and there are many truly beautiful moments. Kudos to all involved.”

Matt Screen Time
