SPY KIDS 2: THE ISLAND OF LOST DREAMS is a family film featuring young spies, which is loosely based on the 1930’s film THE ISLAND OF LOST SOULS. It is the sequel to 2001’s SPY KIDS, continuing the adventures of Carmen Cortez (Alexa Vega) and her younger brother Juni (Daryl Sabara). They have joined the OSS in the new spy kids division. It is there that they start a rivalry with tech-savvy brother and sister duel Gary (Matt O’Leary) and Gerti (Emily Osment) Giggles. When Gary and Gerti receive the coveted Ukata Assignment, and Juni is wrongfully fired, Carmen and him decide to steal the assignment and get his job back. When their gadgets fail to work on the bizarre island, they learn the importance of knowhow over technology.

Matt plays Gary Giggles, “Bad Boy” spy and secret crush of Carmen. It was this role that brought Matt to the public eye, especially for young teens. He was featured in magazines from Disney Adventures to J-14. There is even a Gary Giggle action figure! And no, Matt can no longer perform the Giggles’ laugh.
